Oropharyngeal dysphagia is a major cause of mortality and morbidity due to serious complications such as malnutrition, dehydration and aspiration pneumonia.
Dysphagia is a common condition in the elderly, after stroke, in neurological conditions, dementia or in patients with head and neck carcinoma. In this presentation, we will focus on evidence-based assessment and interventions in persons with swallowing problems: facts and fiction.
